I admit that I've wanted a Python for decades because it's a terrific piece, and since I didn't buy a new one in the late 70's before hyperinflation began .... Greensburg cyclery

It is better than it was, but still should be flawless. A friend is having the same issue with a Python. It was truly manufactured more to a mass market, much the same as the S&W L frame has been marketed. The King Cobra is more of a duty, or field grade, revolver. You can expect to pay $600, and upward for a King Cobra. That said, the trigger on the King Cobra is amazing. The double-action trigger is exceptionally smooth during take-up without any hesitation or grit and just a light stacking right before the break. The break is crisp with almost no over-travel. The single-action trigger has zero creep and breaks like a 1911.I'd like to add the New Cobra, New King Cobra, New Python, and the New Anaconda to the list.
