But as speed increases the temp goes up.Try this: Take off your accessory belt, and then start it up (cold start up), and rev it, see if it makes the noise ( you can run it for a couple of minutes without water flowing through it, but just do it long enough so that you can test for the noise). That will tell you if it is internal or not.

Anything below that would not be considered overheating. I would disagree with that... at least on a technical level anyway. Like.Jeep Wrangler overheating, white smoke while driving. I have a 2002 Jeep Wrangler. As I was driving today, I saw the temperature was reading 260 (the highest temp it will read). Pulled over to let it cool down. Noticed there were a few drops of coolant that came out of the radiator cap as I was waiting for it to cool down.This is a common problem when doing any kind of cooling system work on a jeep. Hey guys, I have a 13 jku rubicon with 135k miles, 4" lift on 37's, winch, etc. been fighting an overheating issue for a few months now. Only overheats on high load on the freeway so going up a grade and going 75+ mph. Or going up a winding steep grade going 45+.
