Kel-Tec KS7, same old KSG problems. Got a new Kel-Tec KS7 from a post on r/gundeals and took it out to shoot last night. It looked to me like they had solved a lot of the problems of the KSG and at a much lower price point ($495). They didn’t. I’m not even posting a picture because I am so irritated. Note the differences in the front section of the stock assemblies. Everything in the rear is essentially the same. Remember that on the KS7, Keltec used a longer screw at the notated location. Here are both stock assemblies partially and fully taken apart. In the ksg there is a lever that selects the tube you feed from, and it has a tendency to wear. In the ks7 it's just a solid claw like an 870. The ksg also had a heavy feeling pump, ks7 has a really nice feeling throw. The only downside to the ks7 is that you have to buy a picatinny rail if you want to mount optics, the carry handle is swappable.KelTec KS7 Breakdown. The KelTec KS7 is a bullpup shot that owes its existence to the KSG. The KSG was famous for its dual magazine tube design that gave you 14 rounds of 2.75-inch shells. But fully loaded, the KSG is closer to the Tavor in terms of weight and overall size. The real advantage of the KS7 is that it is thin, light, and basic. But I've seen way more failures and issues from the KS7 than the ksg, and more from the ksg than shockwaves. I've got a KS7 but I'd also rather sbs a shockwave because I'd personally trust it more for defensive use.
